Our Contribution to EASEL

Types of Adaptivity:
The learning objects provided by UoG will cover the following objectives and objects of adaptivity:

  • Adaptivity to the Learner’s Pre-Knowledge
    Based on an adaptive knowledge assessment and testing procedure learning objects are made accessible to the learner depending on his/her pre-knowledge.
  • Adaptivity to the Learner’s Knowledge Progress
    The learning progress will be controlled through individual learning paths.
  • Adaptivity to the Learner’s/Teacher’s Aims and Goals
    Depending on aims and goals the learner will be guided by learning paths.
  • Adaptivity to the Learner’s Navigation Preferences and Experience
    Several types of navigation support are possible. For example, the learner can choose if he wants completely freedom in navigation or if he wants to be guided to his/her goals with an explicitly determined learning paths.

Adaptive Content Design
The UoG-Team is responsible leading partner for deliverable D07 which specifies the design of the adaptive content provided by four EASEL partners (OU, TCD, GIUNTI and UoG, see Partners & Contact)

Physics Course “Newtonian Mechanics”
We structured an online learning course for Newtonian mechanics (mainly kinematics and dynamics) for implementation in the EASEL Learning Environment. This material has been integrated into the APeLS system developed at Trinity College, Dublin, which was included into EASEL for usage as a Third Party Service.
